DAVAO CITY, July 27, 2026 – Mindanao Inclusive Agriculture Development Project Project Director Macario “Bong” Gonzaga urged the Regional Project Coordination Office (RPCO) XI to double its effort in subproject implementation in its 2026 Mid-Year Assessment and Strategic Planning.
“Kasabot ta nga atoang IP brothers need exacting support…Kinahanglan maka-catch-up ta as a whole. Bisag very satisfactory inyong rating, it will not end there. Atoang performance dapat musaka – in terms of obligation, disbursement, and physical and financial accomplishment,” Gonzaga added.

Gonzaga also encouraged the RPCO to further open up their lines of communications to counter subproject bottlenecks.
Meanwhile, Deputy Project Director Zabdiel Zacarias urged the RPCO to continue working for the greater good, even if it meant ruffling some feathers.
“Failure, at this point, is not an option. We need to be able to implement the subprojects that are proposed and vetted by our stakeholders. That’s why we are here,” he emphasized.
RPCO XI has two (2) farm-to-market roads (FMR) underway in Davao Occidental and del Norte, with more infrastructure subprojects bound for Regional Project Advisory Board review. Enterprise subproject-wise, the RPCO also has two (2) enterprise subprojects in procurement stage in the same provinces, with more Indigenous People’s Organizations from the six Ancestral Domains for review.
MIADP’s Mid-term
MIADP, a World Bank funded project, aims to develop indigenous communities across Mindanao through providing infrastructure and enterprise subprojects. Nearing its mid-term implementation, the project gears toward transitioning to on-ground implementation of subprojects until its completion in 2028.
The first three years of the project focused on AD’s and IPO’s social preparation, identifying subprojects, and preparing subproject proposals. These are evidenced by the Ancestral Domain Agriculture Implementation Framework (ADAIF), a book encapsulating the indigenous communities’ plans for the AD, subprojects’ RPAB approvals, among others.
For Davao Region, six ADs from five provinces were identified by the project for implementation in direct partnership with the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP). These are the ADs of Ata-Manobo and Mangguangan in Davao del Norte, Mansaka in Davao de Oro, Mandaya in Davao Oriental, Bagobo Tagabawa in Davao del Sur, and Blaan and Tagakaulo in Davao Occidental. | via James Brian R.
