MALAYBALAY CITY, BUKIDNON — March 7, 2025

The Department of Agriculture – Mindanao Inclusive Agriculture Development Project Regional Project Coordination Office 10 (DA-MIADP RPCO 10) conducted an Interagency Consultative Meeting with the Daraghuyan Ancestral Domain (AD)’s indigenous political structure/indigenous political organization (IPS/IPO) and the Inhandig Tribal Multi-Purpose Cooperative (ITMPC) on March 7, 2025, at the Daraghuyan Cultural Heritage, Dalwangan, Malaybalay City.

The consultation brought together key representatives from various agencies and members of the Daraghuyan IPS/IPO, including AD representative Bae Inatlawan Adelina Tarino, Malaybalay City Agriculture Office Aquaculturist II Raiza Rose Michaela A. Barroso, the City Veterinary Office – Livestock Production team led by Dr. Omar T. Cahanap with team members Charlou Dumindin and Rolly Cacay, the National Commission on Indigenous People – Region 10 (NCIP-10) represented by Administrative Assistant IV Jiveth Pucot and DA-MIADP RPCO 10 staff.

Led by Component 3 Business Development Officer Jeanlie C. Valenzuela, the consultation aimed to support the development of ITMPC’s Business Plan—Coffee Consolidation, Processing, and Marketing, a key initiative under DA-MIADP’s enterprise sub-project (SP). The meeting provided a platform for stakeholders to finalize the business plan, address remaining issues and outline key actions to ensure the SP’s success.

To ensure the sustainability of ITMPC’s coffee farming operations, the acquisition of healthy draft animals, such as carabaos and horses, was critical. The City Veterinary Office – Livestock Production team collaborated with the tribal community to define the necessary specifications for the procurement of the draft animals. This effort focused on ensuring animal health, which directly contributes to ITMPC’s logistical and operational efficiency, while also respecting the traditional preferences of the Indigenous Cultural Communities/Indigenous Peoples (ICC/IPs).

The outcomes of this meeting will significantly benefit ITMPC’s coffee enterprise, enhancing agricultural support, and driving inclusive development within their ancestral domain.
