ROSARIO, ADS—The Implementation Management Agreement (IMA) for the Improvement/Concreting of New Road Junction (NRJ) Purok Ocite to Bahi Farm-to-Market Road (FMR) is now officially in place, marking a significant milestone for the benefit of the Manobo community in the municipality.

Worth Php 54 million, the 2.7-kilometer road, located in Brgy. Sta. Cruz, Rosario, Agusan del Sur is funded under the Department of Agriculture – Mindanao Inclusive Agriculture Development Project (DA MIADP) with the goal of enhancing market access for Indigenous Peoples (IP) farmers engaged in various commodities especially coconut which is the main commodity supported by the subproject.

Mayor Cuyos Sr. highlighted the broader benefits of the project,

“This initiative not only supports our IP farmers but also enhances public service delivery for the benefit of the entire community.”

Echoing this sentiment, RED Mangelen underscored the pivotal role of the IMA,

“The IMA serves as a foundational blueprint between the DA and the LGU, delineating project responsibilities, funding allocations, and implementation strategies crucial for the successful execution of the subproject.”

The FMR seeks to reduce travel time and ensure safer, more reliable transport of agricultural products for IP farmers engaged in coconut farming within the ancestral domain of CADT 078. By enhancing road infrastructure, the project aims to minimize post-harvest losses, streamline transport, and improve the overall efficiency of moving farm goods to major markets.
