As part of its mission to engage Indigenous Peoples (IP) in the identification of subprojects, the Department of Agriculture – Mindanao Inclusive Agriculture Development Project (DA-MIADP), through the AD-Plan component, trains Ancestral Domain (AD) Volunteers, Local Project Management and Implementing Unit (LPMIU) in Butuan City, March 19-21.
The three-day activity seeks to capacitate project partners on the formulation of the Ancestral Domain Agricultural Implementation Framework (ADAIF), an investment framework geared towards identifying key interventions necessary within their respective ancestral domain.
Present are the provincial LGUs of Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Agusan del Norte, along with the respective AD Volunteers from CADT 254, 116, and 256.

AD-Plan component head Roberto R. Hipolao, Jr. set the tone with an emphasis on the projects’ participatory approach in establishing the ADAIF document. “Through the ADAIF, we not only enable IP communities in identifying investment opportunities, but also empower them in their pursuit to access development projects through private organizations and government agencies, outside of MIADP” he said.

MIADP Project Support Office (PSO) Planning and Social Preparation Officer (PSPO) Karlo Jose Alfaro discussed the process of the ADAIF including major activities to follow. Meanwhile, MIADP Caraga PSPO Engr. Jesal Pugahan opened the workshop on the ADAIF template.
