MALAYBALAY CITY, BUKIDNON — The Department of Agriculture – Mindanao Inclusive Agriculture Development Project Regional Project Coordination Office 10 (DA-MIADP RPCO 10) presented updates on its proposed agricultural subprojects for the Daraghuyan Ancestral Domain (AD) to the 77th Protected Area Management Board (PAMB) Executive Committee Meeting on July 31, 2025.

Clarifying Subproject Scope within the Buffer Zone

A key point of discussion revolved around the existing 359 hectares of production areas for coffee, abaca, and other commodities within the Mt. Kitanglad Range Natural Park buffer zone. Proposed tramline and small-scale irrigation systems for these areas were also discussed. RPCO 10 Deputy Project Director (DPD) Lana May S. Racines led the presentation, clarifying that these subprojects are designed to provide essential services to the community and will not extend beyond the specified buffer zone area.

PAMB and Stakeholder Support

The PAMB Chairman, represented by Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Region 10 (DENR-10) Assistant Regional Director for Technical Services Ronald D. Gadot, expressed the PAMB’s full support. He acknowledged these subprojects as long-awaited basic services for the Daraghuyan ICC/IPs. Tankulan Mountaineering Society President Eduardo Rautraut also conveyed support, contingent on MIADP’s compliance with DENR requisites and certifications. ARD Gadot further offered assistance from their Water Resources Unit for the assessment and validation of the small-irrigation subproject.

Next Steps: Joint Site Assessment

Following the PAMB Kitanglad’s approval of the resolution for the MIADP subprojects, DA-MIADP RPCO 10 has scheduled a joint site assessment and validation with representatives from the PASu Kitanglad Office.
