CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY โ The Regional Project Advisory Board (RPAB) has approved the Php 15.2 million enterprise sub-project for the Daraghuyan Ancestral Domain (AD), aimed at establishing the Coffee Consolidation, Production and Marketing Enterprise. The RPAB approval, which took place on August 11, 2025, marks the second sub-project for the community to be funded under the Department of Agricultureโs (DA) World Bank-funded Mindanao Inclusive Agriculture Development Project (MIADP).
Key Details of the Project
The new enterprise, titled โCoffee Consolidation, Processing, and Marketing,โ will be located in Barangay Dalwangan, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon. The Inhandig Tribal Multi-Purpose Cooperative (ITMPC), the Daraghuyan ADโs Indigenous Peoples Organization, will fully own and manage the enterprise.
The project will focus on two main products:
- Green Coffee Beans (both specialty and commercial grade)
- Packaged Ground Coffee
The ITMPC is an agricultural cooperative established to generate funds and undertake agricultural production for its members.
Comprehensive Support for Success
To ensure the project’s success, the sub-project includes several key components:
- A three-year capacity development plan for officers and coffee farmers.
- Resources for working animals (horses and carabaos).
- Working capital to consolidate coffee cherries from individual farmers.
- A post-harvest and coffee processing facility.
- A delivery vehicle.
Community Gratitude and Future Goals
ITMPC Manager Merly O. Suday expressed the community’s gratitude, sharing her appreciation in a statement. “We used to just dream that a project would come to Daraghuyan, and now, finally, our enterprise has been approved. By being united and helping one another, our dreams for the progress and the upliftment of the lives of our community is not impossible.”
The DA-MIADP Regional Project Coordination Office 10 hopes the project will help improve the quality of life for the indigenous cultural communities and peoples within the Daraghuyan AD through inclusive agricultural development.
