DAVAO CITY, July 25, 2025 – The second leg of the Mindanao Inclusive Agriculture Development Project (MIADP) Regional Project Coordination Office (RPCO) XI Component 1’s series of training on Indigenous People’s Organization (IPOs) saw the Datu Danwata Women’s Association (DDWA)  from the Ancestral Domain of Blaan and Tagakaulo in Davao Occidental undergo intensive training on organizational management under the lens of the program.

“This is one of MIADP’s support for IPOs to advance into entrepreneurship. Kinahanglan nga masuportahan nato ang atoang mga IPOs kay sila ang isa sa maghatag ug kalamboan sa ilahang lugar,” Component 1 Head Martinet Roble emphasized.

(We need to support our IPOs because they will be one of the pillars in the development of their areas.)

Previously, four IPOs from the AD of Ata-Manobo in Davao del Norte completed the same training in preparation for their concept notes, which will support business plan development.

In the case of DDWA, the training should streamline their upcoming implementation of their recently Regional Project Advisory Board (RPAB)-approved business plan.

(You are being prepared how to handle this big of a project. That’s why it was broken down for you. The coffee potential of Davao Occidental is immense, that’s why this project needs to be sustainable.)

DDWA is a woman-led and women-centric IPO in Datu Danwata, Davao Occidental. Their business plan of coffee consolidation, post-harvest processing, and marketing of Robusta green coffee beans marked the first of agri-preneurial ventures from RPCO XI, pioneering the project implementation for the enterprise development’s end.

“Dako among pasalamat kay kabalo ko nga daghan pa mi nga mga training ang pagahimoon sa amoa, ug kabalo mi nga dili mi pasagdan sa MIADP,” Bae Carmela Maganding, DDWA’s secretary, said.

(We are grateful because we know that MIADP won’t fail us and we still have many incoming training to undergo under the project.)

The training series will continue with the remaining four ADs within the next two months, as MIADP RPCO XI intensifies its focus on implementation.
